Taking care of your pieces will ensure that they can become treasured heirlooms to pass on to future generations.

Caring for your Precious Pieces and Removing the Pom for Laundering the Beanie
Do you need to remove the pom? Here are some photos that show the process to add a pom pom. Reverse the process to get it off and back on. The pom is tied on, with the strings through the holes in a button inside the hat. Poke around behind the button and you will find a bow. Untie the bow, slip off the button and voila, the pom slides off in order to launder the hat. Do not wash the pom. If you slip the button back up the strings, tie a bow and you wont lose it. Launder according to instructions on the tag. It is best to use a product designed for delicate fabrics. Following package instructions. Woolite, Eucalan, Forever New, and Splash are great choices. My favourite is Soak, it's also rinse free.
Be sure to store your beanies in a muslin bag in the off season. Fluff the pom pom with a hair dryer on COOL in the fall and you're all set for next winter. Looking great.
The Button Brand
Should you need to remove the branding button, using some sharp, pointy scissors, carefully snip the yarn on the front side only. This will ensure that you do not accidentally snip the knitted fabric and end up with a giant, unravelled hole!
